Server Pages (ASP)
The Sun Chili!Soft ASP application allows us to support the most common
and frequently used ASP standards (e.g., ASP 2.0, VBScript 3.2 and JScript
3.2). This allows you to easily deploy your new or existing ASP application
with little or no changes to code when on a Unix server. Sun Chili!Soft
ASP includes support for authentic Microsoft VBScript and JScript scripting
engines, please note however that MS Access databases are currently
not supported. 
Anonymous
FTP
AnonFTP allows you to place files in a public folder that can be accessed
via FTP by the general public. Users can download files from your site
using a path like ftp://www.domain.com/pub. Incoming files are posted
to a different folder for your security.
Archive Manager
The archive manager allows compression and or extraction of any files within the home directory.
Counters
We provide several types of counters which can be added to your web
site that display the number of visitors to your site.
CGI-BIN
Each account comes with a CGI-BIN directory allowing scripts to be executed/invoked
by a web browser, on the server. All files placed in the cgi-bin directory
will be parsed, including .cgi and pl scripts.
Custom Error Pages
When a visitor attempts to visit a non-existing page, you can provide a customized page to help them find their way.
Data
Transfer (Bandwidth)
The amount
of traffic that your site gets is measured in terms of transfer or bandwidth.
The more traffic your site gets, the more transfer is used. Therefore,
very busy sites will need more bandwidth on the hosting plan. Additional
bandwidth is available for $5/GB monthly.
Daily
Backups
Incremental site backups are done on a daily basis for your data protection.
This means that changes to files located in your primary folders (domain-www,
domain-mail, etc.) are saved daily. Note that these incremental backups
overwrite the backup from the night before and only the contents of
the primary folders are included in the data backups. Data (files/folders)
should not be placed in the username folder as there is no assurance
that the data would be preserved. Tape backups are done routinely on
a bi-weekly basis.
Disk
Storage
Disk space refers to the amount of server disk storage your account
is allocated. This space is used to store your html files, graphics,
audio clips, POP mail messages, and all other files that make up your
Web site. Each of our plans includes a specified allotment of disk storage
space, but additional space can be purchased for any account in 20 MB
increments for a cost of $5 per month.
Domain
Parking/Pointing
Additional domain name pointers resolve to the root level of your domain
(IP Address) just like your original domain name. Additional domain
names cannot point to a subdirectory of your shared server. Domain parking
is an excellent way to drive more traffic to your Web site.
Email
Auto Responders
Autoresponders may be used to send automated responses to incoming email
sent to a specific address. For example, an autoresponder can be easily
setup to automatically reply to an email received at sales@domain.com.
Email
POP Boxes
Each of our hosting packages comes with unique POP3 email accounts,
in addition to mail forwarding. You have the option to retrieve email
directly from POP3 mailboxes on the mail server using an email program
such as Eudora or Outlook.
Your POP
accounts can be instantly created from the control panel. Additional
email boxes can be purchased for any account.
Email
Forwarding
Using our Mail Manager tool within your control panel, you can select
to have all email to an address forwarded to another address. For example,
you may want to have several email addresses and only check one POP
box for all your mail. This feature allows you to forward to any email
address, both on and off our network.
File
Manager
This feature, which is part of your control panel, allows you to upload,
edit, delete, and set permissions for files and folders using your web
browser.
FormMail
FormMail is a generic form-to-email gateway, which will parse the results
of any form and email them to the specified user. For assistance in
integrating FormMail to your web site, you may want to consider utilizing
our Technical Consultation/Assistance.
Forums
Create and moderate forums, message boards and user groups.
FrontPage
MS FrontPage extensions enable all of the features available to Microsoft
FrontPage users. FrontPage server extensions are supported.
FTP
(File Transfer Protocol) This is a method used to "upload"
your Web site files to your domain. You
have unlimited access to your shared server via FTP 24-hours a day to
set up and maintain your Web site. You can work on HTML documents, graphics,
and scripts locally, then upload files to your web site when ready.

Site Transfer
Transferring to a new web host provider should be easy, which is
why we offer the service of taking care of the web site transfer for
our customers. If you are transferring your site to us from another
web host and need to have your pages moved, our technicians will coordinate
the transfer of the pages for you.
In order
to complete the transfer, we will just need your domain name and/or
your IP address*, your username/password at the old host, and any additional
information about what needs to be transferred. Note that your old hosting
account must still be active in order for the transfer to be completed.

* If
you have updated your domain name record to point to our nameservers,
we will need the IP address at the old host in order to proceed with

Site guestbooks on your site allow you to collect testimonials, messages and customer feedback.

Manager
The Mail Manager allows you to create POP boxes, forward email and setup
auto responders from your control panel.
Mailing
Lists
The Mailing List program (SmartList) allows you to setup and maintain
an online mailing list to which your customers can subscribe. The mailing
list is administered from your site control panel using XCommand.
Mime Types
The MIME Types feature allows you to set certain programs to be used
for specific extensions. Mime types can be set directly from the Site
Manager or by using a customized .htaccess file.
MySQL
MySQL is a database engine that can be used with your web site. This
feature allows you to manage your database(s). Each plan comes with
one MySQL database. Additional databases are available for a monthly
fee, however note that most users can add tables to the default MySQL
database instead of using additional databases.
Net Builder
Full featured web-based database management program for small and medium-sized businesses. It enables a business to leverage the power fo the Internet in managing information, giving clients flexible control, a high degree of access, and advanced levels of reliability and security.
Net Query Manager
For the technical user who needs to do domain and IP reverse look ups, DNS Queries, Whois, Port Checking and much more.

Protect Directories
The Protect Directories feature allows you to set passwords for folders
in your web site to control user access.

PGP is a public key encryption system that allows you to send and receive secure, encrypted information

The PGP Email feature allows you to upload your PGP key and setup PGP
email. (Basically the same as FormMail only the contents can be encrypted
before they are sent)
PHP
Preprocessed Hypertext is an Open Source (free) language which can be
parsed on the server before any information is sent to the web browser.
PHP allows for dynamic/database publishing and web site interactivity.
Poll Manager
The Poll Manager allows collection of valuable feedback from site visitors and can be a great marketing tool.
Raw
Log Files
For users that have another site statistics program, raw log files are
available directly from your site. Raw logs are kept for the current
and the previous month for your convenience. They are available via
FTP from the domain-logs folder.

Side Includes (SSI)
Server side includes are files that are parsed by the web server before
any information is sent to the web browser.
Secure
Server (SSL)
SSL is a secure method of passing information between the web browser
and the web server. SSL is available as a free service to all VP customers.
You may also purchase a secure certificate from us (more
info) and/or install your own certificate from another provider.

The shopping cart is free with our Gold Package
account. It is an easy to use shopping cart system and can be easily customized for your web site.
Site
Backup to CD
Keep your domain space free of unnecessary files by keeping CD backups
of your web pages and images! VP will assist your backup efforts by
writing your website to a non-erasable CD to provide you with all of
your web files in one place. This is especially useful for users who
want to keep an old version of a website or database available while
a new one is being developed. Benefits include a speedy restoration
to your site files in the event that they get corrupt or lost, keeping
your used server space to a minimum, and maintaining of a local copy
of large files without taking up your PC's hard drive space.

The online control panel provides the customer with complete account
administration functions. Manage, archive, upload and set permissions
for files and folders, setup SSL, conduct email management and much

The site resource meter gives you direct information regarding your website such as disk usage, email usage, etc. all in one place.

Search Engine
The Site Search Engine feature will allow you to install the WebGlimpse
search engine on your web site. Users can then search the content of
your website easily, giving them search engine results with keyword
relevancy just as in any major search engine.

Statistics
HTTP-Analyzer provides our customers with valuable reports on web site
traffic including referral information. Over 15 reports to choose from
in an easy-to-use format. Frames version recommended but not required.
SpamAssassin
SpamAssassin provides blocking and filtering of e-mail from spammers. SpamAssassin can block unwanted email, spam, viruses, executable attachments, duplicate messages, Base64 email, web-bugs and images. Since it is customizable, you have control of what is blocked and what isn't. You can save the spam messges to a repository or simply eliminate them. Many other features make SpamAssassin an excellent tool for eliminating spam.
SSH
Secure Shell (SSH) allows a secure means to utilize Telnet features.
We support RSA Encryption via clients like SecureCRT as well as free
International versions of SSH.
URL Redirector
The Redirection Manager allows you to redirect pages on your site to other locations.
